It would come, a response from Lucinda, of that Elsie was certain. She rather thought it was probably a good thing her cousins hadn't immediately reacted, but she couldn't imagine anyone else would wait much longer. Unless they planned to cut their ties, that she was sure she would have to hear through the family grapevine.

Her sister still longed to be a mother herself and even though her marriage was years in now, they still hadn't managed to fall pregnant. "I think mum will come around." Clearly Stella was disappointed and had every right to be, but as much as Elsie had feared telling her mother, Stella had surprised her in her reactions in that she did not overreact.

"We haven't heard from anyone on Tyb's side yet." She honestly wasn't even sure if he had reached out. Tyb had likely told his brother, they were fairly close, but she hadn't pushed the issue. Els knew that the Kirke family was not quite as tightly-knit as her own, so she wasn't going to force anything.
