Dear Mr. Carmichael

I must admit this letter is a long time coming and you will likely be unsurprised by what I am about to write - but it did come to me as something of a revelation.  I think I can finally say that I understand your position on Divination - after a fashion. 

I've come to understand that, while Divination often felt in direct odds with what I personally saw, it is a tool that can be used to channel the Inner Eye.  I hope you can forgive my ignorance and obstinance on the matter.  I was quite young, after all.  Then again, I'm sure you hear such platitudes from many of your former students.
