Cee's Quidditch Tea
#2
The Chudley Cannons

Sponsor: Theodore Gallivan

It is silly to see this written down, but I would hate it the Cannons' section of this notebook wasn't properly organized.

Also, I cannot help but wish that one day it will be 'Cecily' instead of 'Theodore'. I know that Theo has no desire to sponsor the Cannons... Not truly. Perhaps when I am old I could slowly start taking over, until it becomes natural that I am the sponsor rather than Theo?

Women have been Ministers, I do not see why I can't sponsor a team! Well, there is one very significant reason I can't: I don't exactly have my own money. Perhaps I could use the money for my dowry and wed the Cannons instead of any man, like a Queen Elizabeth of Quidditch. I don't think Theo would mind if that happened.

But I digress, this isn't supposed to be a place for me to rant about my feelings.

Coach: [Name]

He is doing a decent enough job but I believe the Cannons could use new blood. It is just awkward to get rid of him, when he hasn't technically done anything wrong.

I confess that I would have liked that position. I really enjoyed coaching my team at Hogwarts, but I am aware that coaching a school team is vastly different to a professional team. Besides, the players wouldn't take me seriously. I wouldn't blame them. I wouldn't take seriously a debutante either.

In any case, I suggested some game strategies to him once and I don't think he ever really took a look at them.

Seeker: Cassius Lestrange

An excellent player and seeker. I only wish I had had the chance to play alongside him when we were at Hogwarts. Alas, I joined the team a year after he graduated.

I suspect that he will play Quidditch only for a season or two more. A pity, really, for seekers of Lestrange's caliber are rare to find. If he wasn't a Lestrange perhaps he could have played until his thirties and then become our coach.

Though I know that now I am speaking with my heart and not my mind. He is a talented seeker, but I must confess he doesn't have the greatest people skills, from what I have observed. I suppose it is the seeker effect. In a way, they play a different game altogether from the rest of the team members. Of course, a good seeker knows that there are times when one must not catch the snitch.

I feel bad for him, at times. I've never seen any of his relatives at his games, not his immediate family, at the very least. Rumour has it that his youngest sister has never attended any of his matches. How cruel of her! I understand that Quidditch is not everyone's cup of tea, but she could at least attend to be there for him and spend the entire time reading, or embroidering, or whatever it is that she prefers to do with her time.

I wish we could adopt him, in all honesty.

Keeper: Jack Humphrey-Mavis

He is a good chaser, though I might be biased because we were on friendly terms at Hogwarts, even if we were rivals on the pitch.

Some people do not take him seriously due to his ties to muggle nobility. I suppose it must be due to my own ties to muggle society, but I do not particularly mind. Aunt Mary actually knows we are friends and I believe she approves of our friendship. I bet that if he were a few years older, she would be pushing for us to marry. She would love for me to be a Lady. I suppose if I were born in muggle society this is what I would have wanted too. That doesn't have much weight for us, though.

Players I'd Like To See

Chaser: Augusta Robbins

She plays for the Harpies and it truly fills my heart with joy to see her there. If it wasn't for my family's ties to the Cannons, I would have liked to play there myself. In any case, I would like to see some women on the Cannons' roster and I quite like Miss Robbins. Especially after we happened to go out flying once!
