U/MCAB | REP 6+ | CHARITY EVENT

What: Courtly Love Inspired Charity Garden Party
Who: Hosted by Marianne and some other society women. Aimed at UC and MC folks.
Cost: See below
Where: Mrs. Miriam Wildsmith's country estate in Southampton. Appropriate weather charms were done so there's good weather in the premises of the event.
Why: To raise money for charity and have a bit of fun pretending to be knights and ladies in the middle ages.
When: February 14th, 1891. Afternoon till midnight.

An afternoon party inspired by the notion of courtly love. In the middle ages, knights would have to prove their love to their ladies by doing tasks such as slaying dragons and sacking Constantinople. The 'knights' attending this event won't have to go to such lengths, but they'll have to prove how knightly they are in certain ways:
  • Make donations for the various charities being sponsored by this event.
  • Participate in a dueling competition on boomsticks, inspired by jousting, where whatever is raised in bets will go to charity.
  • Display their skill and bravery in handling boggarts, because they couldn't get an actual dragon or dementor for this. Ladies can then award them with roses that are quite pricey, but the earnings will go to charity.
