He seemed hell bent on getting some space and so Eva let her hand fall, wrapping her arms around herself. From what (little) she did know about his time before Arizona, this was how he coped with things that he couldn't control. Eva had handed him the reigns when she found out about the baby, but clearly that hadn't been the case here.
