I too had the one brother only, though he passed away many years ago. You are indeed very young - perhaps not even in your prime yet - but if it is a guiding hand you desire, I am willing to offer it. If I were to take another wife, it is a surety that she would be well provided for.
And I too am in the business of unvarnished truths: I do despise a liar. I shall be plain, then, that the most illustrious days of my ordinary career are perhaps behind me; in recent years my primary passion has been my academic research, and much of my time now is devoted to my manuscripts in my study. Though I cannot call my work a cheering subject - it is in fact rather controversial amongst the general public - it is a necessary one for the betterment of society, and I have no intention of giving it up.
If this is no obstacle to the future you envision, I would be much obliged to make your acquaintance in person.
