Claude noted Ellory didn't quite gush over the day, but he supposed that was to be expected. Arranged marriages were a tricky thing, even and perhaps especially, in cases like this. He had to wonder just how much input she had over the day as well. He'd had zero really, but that was normal, he supposed.
"I would have," Claude shrugged. He was just thirty last year, it wasn't like he was some ancient old man who was approaching permanent bachelorhood. "I just apparently wasn't working on my father's timeline." He wasn't exactly the most social of creatures; attending social events was the bane of his existence and he got away with the bare minimum, meaning they were mostly family events, so his chances of finding a potential bride were slim. And he'd ended up marrying a cousin anyway, go figure. Unfortunately Roni hadn't been a "suitable" option and he valued her life far more than the opportunity to marry her.
Taking a long sip of his wine, Claude mulled it over. "What would you have done differently today?" He was genuinely curious.
