If Ellory hadn't already primed her for this sort of indignation she might would probably have flipped her shit very loudly and publicly. It seemed she'd been more convincing than she could have hoped but the last thing she'd wanted was Ellory's pity. How dare she! "He's not his father and I don't suffer, I wouldn't want a different husband and he's better than Claudius by a mile." Screw Ellory for making her say nice things about it, he'd better not somehow be listening in or she'd really lose it. If she still wanted to traumatize the other woman she couldn't leave it there, she'd have to give a little. Her demeanor soften a little but not completely. "He's no worse than any other husband.
