Dearest Mama,
Please, forgive me Mama. I hadn't realized so long had passed since our last letter. Are you well? Are the nurses caring for you adequately? You know I will attend to you as soon as I'm able. I miss you always.
I hosted a small party last night and it went remarkably well. It was as all things should be — perfect. I've yet to hear any reviews, negative or otherwise, so I have little doubt it was a success. I wish you were well enough to attend, Mama. It would have been lovely to see you. But, I know parties are too taxing for a woman in ill health, so I hope you will forgive my selfishness as well.
Please, don't ever say such things. You will recover from this as you always do. I need you to.
Your Loving Daughter, Freya
