I'm unsure of whether or not the scandal has broken yet — though knowing my family it likely has. If you haven't yet heard, I married Mr. Reuben Crouch after the Valentine's Day Ball. It was a reckless decision, but it was made out of love. I couldn't possibly spend the rest of my life attached to that soulless man.

Your aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs.Finch have little need for a disobedient daughter, as I'm sure anyone with any knowledge of them whatsoever might have predicted. Such an adjustment will take time to come to terms with of course, but I'm hoping you might understand my plight. Perhaps that's bold of me to assume, though given the circumstances of your own elopement I'm praying not. I could suffer through the loss of my parents and siblings, that would be easy enough. On the other hand, I would loathe to lose you as well. Our friendship was always cherished to me.

I pray you'll forgive both my impulsiveness and my rambling. Ben and I are currently honeymooning in Paris, and the journey here wasn't kind (you know how terribly seasick I get). I hope you're well.
