Dear Mr. Adlard,
*insert pleasantries here*
I saw the news of your promotion in the Daily Prophet this morning and wished to extend my congratulations. I'm sure you'll do a fine job.
I also wished to thank you again for your kindness in the lift two days ago. It's a relief to know I can still consider you a friend despite the time that has passed between us. If you have time to spare perhaps we can arrange to have lunch one day. I'd love to know how you and your family have fared since we last saw one another.
However, I will understand if you're unavailable. A man in your position likely doesn't have much time to spare for old school friends.
Congratulations, again.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Maggie Goyle
