For a moment it seemed like the lady might have no idea. Percy continued to back the creature up, making soft noises toward it, when she indicated where the owner might be. Worried about losing eye contact, Percy barely spared a glance in the direction she pointed. The owner wasn’t here now and therefore likely won’t be able to help the situation.

The kneazle took one step back into the cage and Percy began to feel relief. Another step as Percy continued forward. Until finally it had settled back into its cage and Percy could latch it. “There! It appears you are now safe from danger.” He declared, turning to look at the lady with a reassuring smile.

He’d have to wait until the stall owner came back to inquire further, but first the lady did look father shaken. It would be rather unfair if he did not calm her as well.
