A laugh caught in his throat as she muttered a word that was impolite for any lady of any background to utter. He stared at her with a open-mouthed smile and raised brows in response, half shocked and half surprised at her impropriety. Even more shocking were the words that followed—"dumb divination debutantes".
"Now, that's not a very nice thing to say about Sisse," he said in a tone of mock disapproval. Sisse had become his primary source for Divination homework when he needed it, and he was sure she would help him with Potions, but that wasn't why he was doing this. He wanted to make a point. He needed to let out emotions somehow, even if it wasn't healthy.
"Though I'm sure at least one of the ladies will be willing to help." He held up her notebook and scanned the page, finding, like she'd said, nothing of value. "Fine, I'll go, but I'm taking this." He swung the bag in his arm as he slowly began backing away from her and towards the path.
