Did he just really arrive at a large castle by a boat moved by magic? Sure, he knew he was a wizard and he had been taught some basics, but he hadn't seen any real magic aside from when his father's cousin passed down her wand to him, a really nice wand, but it was already dirty as he had dropped it in the mud when he got off the train. It wasn't his fault! He was entertaining other first years by how fast he could spin it like a drumstick. Oh well, he got a laugh from the other students so who cared.
As Song-Jin entered the Great Hall his eyes widened as he searched the ceiling. Were those candles floating; also where was the roof?! He stopped for a few moments trying to figure it out which caused the student behind him who was also looking at the ceiling to bump into him causing some muggle candy to fall out on the ground and him to garner the attention of some older students. He smiled and just laughed it off helping the other student up and sharing his candy until the Professor leading him in gave him a stern look. They could already see he would be trouble.
They kept moving forward, Song-Jin more interested in the people around him and saying high. He wasn't nervous or shy in the least bit, but the was put off when some students wouldn't even notice him. Green ties, must be the stuck up people. They all came to a stop and a dirty old hat was put on a stool and this caught Song-Jin's attention. All this magic and yet they couldn't find a cleaner hat? Oh wait....is it singing now? Song-Jin listened and tapped his foot to the song, but it was over before he could get a good dance started. He stood there watching and humming the hat's tune and wasn't really paying attention to how they greeted the hat and was taken off guard when he heard, "Song-Jin Moon."
He straighten up and sort of skipped up to the hat, he held out his hand to the hat and smiled, "Hello hat, I'm Song-Jin, nice to meet you....oh right, no hands." This gained laughter from the other students if not they were just laughing at him, but he didn't care. The Professor however was not amused, "Sit down, Mr. Song-Jin!" He clammed up and did as he was told. The hat was placed on his head and fell over his face as it began to search his mind.
