Despite her ire Laurel felt herself softening. She was worried over her daughter, had been since she had heard them tell her what the nurse had said. But that only made her desire to see her daughter more, to keep her close so she could fuss over her and look after her. It was evident in the way Elias spoke (indeed in the fact that he stood up to her at all, a fact which she might have acknowledged if she hadn't been so upset in the first place) and yet Laurel had already thought of this. "We're wizards Elias." She scolded sternly. "There is plenty of magic to keep her tucked into her bed until the time comes, whether that bed is here or in my own home." But there was a nagging thought at the back of Laurel's mind that reminded her that perhaps that many people, the excitement of it all, might at the very root of it be simply too much for Daffy and the baby.
