Eugene hadn't even realized that he had made a face, so accustomed to everyone around him knowing what would cause it that he was momentarily puzzled by Miss Owen's inquiry. "Oh yes, I was inured in the dragon attacks on the Thames." The scar remained, but after his treatments in the States, it didn't pain him as much as it used to, unless he overdid it. Time had healed the other wounds, too. "I played a little too hard in the snow, I think." He chuckled, phrasing it that way on purpose. "It used to be much worse, this is nothing." He could handle it, hardly needed his cane unless he knew he was going to be doing a lot of walking, mostly at work.
"I work in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, so things like that come with the territory." Though dragons had never been something he thought he'd like to spend time up close and personal with and would thoroughly like to avoid it in the future.
