Don Juan didn't like the word cranky any more than he liked the laundry-list of how he ought to be behaving; both felt infantilizing to him, as though he was a surly Hogwarts student who needed to be managed and directed rather than an adult. But that was how Dean had always seen him, anyway — still not someone who could be trusted to be alone, not someone who was capable of making any good choices without direct oversight.
