"No, we are not." This conversation had already turned too candid for the setting and the hand on his sleeve was pushing it. Nobody was around currently, but someone else could come out of that room or someone could come down the hall and it would look suspicious. Still, Dean didn't have the heart to pull his hand away.

He had no idea what Dempsey had in that room; it wasn't like Dean hadn't had two glasses of whiskey tonight. The difference was that two glasses of whiskey didn't even give Dean a buzz, nothing. He drank it so often that it took far more than that and he still didn't even like to go much beyond being tipsy. Dean could already tell Dempsey wouldn't come back down by the time they were supposed to get home and he didn't have much patience for it tonight. It happened a little too often for his liking, but it wasn't like he could say anything about it. Normally it didn't matter, normally it was fine to just curl up in bed and sleep. Tonight had been different, they'd had plans and that was his one sticking point.
