I have absolute zero (0) characters on my roster for these ideas (at least... I think I do....), but I do have character concepts bouncing around in my head that might suit these (and I would love additional reasons to use them); I think it'd just be neat to watch these ideas unfold and stalk related threads, even if I wasn't part of the
Sorry for the rambling...
- "Fateful pairing but it's annoying" mentioned by Lynn (a trope I am such a sucker for), with the possible twist: one party is not fully human - or human at all... or, if that's a bit too far-fetched, I'm sure a muggle or squib could be just as drama-filled for the right character!
- "I got a whiff of Amortentia fumes today and, fuck, I think what I smelled was you" coupled with enemies to lovers or friends to lovers slowburn.... or just straight angst (we've ruined the friendship/ruined a different established relationship?) Could definitely be part of the "fateful pairing" idea as well...
- the Victorian version of this cliché trope: "this was only a dare... but I've caught feelings and now you hate me cuz you found out about it and I may be fucked" with the potential for resolution or... not! Hateship potential anyone? (But if you wanted resolution, maybe long term pining and trying to rebuild trust, spanning maybe the end of the two's Hogwarts' year into early 20s? Nothing unrealistically fast) Would be fun to see the usual gender roles for this trope flipped too...
now back under my rock I go!
