"I don't think it's so much age," Mason chuckled, though he was nearing forty now. It was getting a little late to settle down and start a family at his age, but not impossible, he supposed. "More about opportunity. School is its own little bubble, not a lot of room for romance." Especially with the head of house position now and a decade under his belt. Hogwarts had been his home for more of his life than not now and he couldn't imagine doing anything else with his time.
