It would be simple to just hand it back to her and then turn on his heel to leave, and he knew Rosalie wouldn't begrudge him that; he assumed she didn't want to have a conversation with him at a wedding reception any more than he did. But he was cognizant of the idea that people might notice if he quitted the conversation too suddenly. This long after their failed engagement it was no longer worth noting if they were simply at the same place at the same time, but if he was observed to be especially standoffish it might be noted. He didn't want to give anyone the impression he was fleeing. He already had enough of a reputation for having handled the recovery from their engagement poorly; he didn't need to go adding to it.
So he glanced down at the charm bracelet in his hands and tried to think of something to say. Small talk. Just for a second or two. He could manage it. "There's a decent jeweler in Diagon Alley," he remarked. "Lionsbridge Jewelry. My mother had three rings resized there. I'm sure they could fix it up for you."
