Enid's heart was beating faster; she felt very aware of the ker-thump of it in her chest. She ought to be concerned about propriety, but really she was concerned that she would not manage to seem smart and capable for the entire walk over.

"Let's head there," Enid agreed, with another smile, "Can you lead the way? I've only seen the outside."

This was exciting! And terrifying.
