It was all he needed to hear; the words were wonderful and filled him with a renewed energy and hope that she would enjoy their day — grinning again (there would be a lot of that today, he supposed), Faustus opened the gate to allow her to cross through before he closed it behind them. As he walked to the carriage, one of his footmen moved to open the door for her; with a flick of his hand, Faustus sent the footman to the back of the carriage, reaching for the handle to open the door and help her in where Mr. and Mrs. Bagshot were already situated.
Once he helped her in and closed the door, they were off, and Faustus was glancing at his pocket watch — right on time.
Putting it back, he turned to smile at Marie whilst Mr. aand Mrs. Bagshot chatted amongst themselves. "I heard you had quite a busy day yesterday at the hospital. I hope everything settled itself in the end?" He didn't wish to bring back any sort of worries she might have about a patient, but he did want to make sure she hadn't had too rough of a day. He knew how it weighed on her if she had a particularly gruelling case.
