'Oh my darling!' he half laughed half gasped, 'I am going to be a father'' and the weight of the words made him sink to the nearest seat, pulling his wife with him and into his lap.

'And you promise there is nothing you need?' he asked earnestly, 'I mean, is the midwife coming every few weeks enough? Maybe we ought to have he here permenantly, just incase?' he clasped her hands in his and looked at her for permission to place a hand on her still flat stomach, slightly over awed at the prospect that there was a life growing there.
