Character Playlists
#1
Heyo!

I know lots of people have playlists for various characters, and I thought it might be fun to take a look at what's on other people's lists. Wink I don't do this for all my characters (it's more like when I get an uncontrollable 'zomg this character IS this song' impulse and then it goes from there) but I have a few. I'm also open to suggestions for additions to playlists if you guys have particular songs you associate with characters of mine.

So far I have playlists for Lou, Ben, and Alfred, and I'm sort of building one for Thom. Soph and I also have a collaborative playlist for our trashcanship.

Also my husband and I share a spotify account so if you browse beyond those playlists I can't be held responsible for whatever is on them >>;

I'm reviving this because I want people to share new playlists so I can stalk them and maybe find new music <3

SO LATELY I saw a meme that redid the "1st base/2nd base/3rd base" thing as relationship intimacy markers (like 2nd base was holding hands and 3rd base was sending the other person memes at 3am or something) and then I was thinking about it in terms of my Charming ships:
1st base - I bookmark lyrics to use as future thread titles between our characters
2nd base - I send you some no-context lyrics and say "this reminds me of Your Character Smile"
3rd base - I send you links to full song lyrics followed by "CharA/CharB vibe"
Homerun - I skype you a whole unsolicited ship playlist

aka lyrics are my love language

    Recent "Surprise, a playlist!" recipients:
Emgel (Emrys Selwyn/Angelica Vorona - vibe is SEX, we're a little obsessed with each other but do we trust each other? unclear) (this playlist is very sex-heavy so uh, don't listen around your parents)

Greenair (Ford Greengrass/Valerian Macnair - vibe is sweet but also we have unaddressed intimacy issues)

Squish (Alfred Darrow/Jo Smith - vibe is wanderlust and mostly-platonic love songs)

    New character playlists:
Ben still has his old playlist that's more bad decisions/frat boy vibe, this one is his current mood.
    Ford
Jules which started as a Beanie creation but then I've added to it

I haven't made character-specific playlists in a minute but some Moods and Vibes:
"a curated vibe playlist", which is mostly about wanting to be better for your friends
"songs that mention the ocean", which is like, 45% a zelfred playlist
"threatening to pull a henry david thoreau"

ooooh threatening to pull a henry david thoreau is already the best vibe <3

I am 99% sure I have linked the playlists Bean has made me over the years somewhere already, but here have a couple of my specific character playlists (I keep meaning to make more of these so I don't have to filter to their songs literally every time I post):

    Evander (...very predictably downbeat)
Tybalt ("figuring out adulthood", with a side of tybsie)

I do this all the time.

Rosalie's is the most laser-targeted. Almost all one artist, whose music makes appearances in some of my other playlists for #moody moments, but Blackbriar's music is PERFECT for a ghost.
I'll also share Shona's and Bernadette's, because I love theirs. It's mostly just mood music/songs I think modern versions would listen to, especially Shona's.

Okay so I used some of my "lying outside in the sun" time this week to compile a few more character playlists, this time for my dead boy, undead boy, and fated-to-die-young boy because apparently that was the mood I was in? xD

Savino muse songs (ft. that one Coin EP + anything dreams & divination + Italian indie + and the general vibe of "I'm either going to die young or drive myself insane")

Ishmael muse songs (ft. some suggestions from Beanie's "five songs" + Montmael songs + you know, your general "snarky immortal criminal vampire" vibes)

Barnaby muse songs (...legitimately The Worst playlist you have ever laid eyes on, this is a horrible mishmash of things he picked, not me, and I don't know why it's more than three hours long???)

Well hey, I am double-posting here but I apparently made a few more playlists months ago and never actually remembered to share them?

Jemima for all your unhinged Victorian debutantes who are always one thread away from emotional breakdown. The vibe is: "haha I don't need a man, I'm perfect... wait, no, someone please love me immediately or I'll actually die." All of these songs are unironically bops.

We also have Ari, the mood is "soft sad pining", features way too much Scars on 45 for no good reason, and about half of the songs are throwbacks to when benari was angsty and unrequited so don't make sense anymore but I don't caaare.

And Elias, whose playlist is based more on a particular voice quality than anything to do with lyrics; but the genre falls somewhere between classic dad rock and woodsy, outdoorsy folk vibes like Mumford & Sons, The Oh Hellos, etc.
