Helga Crouch — Played by Bree
Helga smiled at the sentiment, wondering what a life as a quidditch wife might be like for her. She'd be a good hostess—that was a given—but she'd also be able to spend more time with her sister and her sister's step-children. She'd always envisioned herself as the wife of a top Ministry official, and at one point as a student had laughed at any of the girls who gawked over quidditch players, and yet here she was.
"I hope you will get your moment to shine," she said. He sounded like he lacked confidence—or maybe he was not as much as an optimist as she. She didn't know enough about quidditch to judge how he'd compare to the other players. She saw him as a gentleman rather than a player; in her mind, he was tall, strong, and in his prime. That had to make someone a good player, right? (And she would so love an opportunity to gush about him to her friends without looking like a forlorn schoolgirl!) "In any case I will be eagerly rooting for you. Britain deserves a win this time with its lineup."

"It'll be interesting with MacFusty back to full strength for this next match, not that Kirke did a poor job, we were just outmatched." The pair of them had both retired, though Kirke much sooner into his career than Becks had himself. Perhaps the kid was brighter than he was. With MacFusty in the match this time, they were bound to fair better. For one, he was also a giant and he was currently playing, so therefore more in practice.
Polishing off his drink, he set it on the table behind him. "We can only hope. I'll need all the good luck I can get." He chuckled, leaning back against the seat as he watched the dance floor before them for a moment. "Losing a second time while hosting will just be plain old embarrassing." Hopefully he could make an actual difference this time. Thankfully Zavala seemed to be at the top of his game, which made a huge difference, and their chasers had solid teamwork, which also worked in their favor.

MacFusty. That was a name she knew, if only because he was on the Cannons. He was a giant of a man—and a handsome one, too. It was a shame that he was from a family of rogue dragon-keepers. "I wouldn't be so hard on your team. You did win, didn't you?" she said with a smile. It had been on Mr. Lestrange and the chasers that they'd won, but that's how it was supposed to be. Beaters were not responsible for scoring goals.
"I will think highly of you nonetheless," she offered as comfort, though she knew he likely didn't care what she thought. It was a miracle she'd been able to earn his acquaintanceship at all, and even then it had been maintained by repeated misfortune on her end. She still wanted him to know, though. "And I trust Mr. Lestrange with the snitch. He may have only been second-string, but he's talented." She thought of Nora, and how cute the pair were. Wouldn't it be funny if both girls married someone in the quidditch league? They could host their uppity extravagant parties together!

A win was a win, no matter how clumsy it was. "Your continued support is most appreciated, Miss Scamander." Becks assured with one of his trademark charming smiles. It wouldn't do him much good in the long run, but it was nice to know she wouldn't hold it against him. At least she wasn't simply a fair weather fan.
"I do hope I won't let you down," He may have asked for a token of good luck from her, but for one thought that a little forward and two he saw his mother's gaze on him and he knew it was time to mingle once again. "As much as I would love to continue to monopolize your time this evening Miss Scamander, I'm afraid my mother has her attention turned my way and nobody wants to deal with that." Well, he didn't really. Becks was fairly certain Miss Scamander could handle her own quite well.
Standing a little reluctantly, he passed Miss Scamander a modified bow so as to not aggravate his shoulder any further. "I hope the ankle feels better soon. Flag me down if you need help getting about later. Enjoy your evening." With another smile, he did his best to melt into the crowd before his mother could locate him again.
