QWC Match One: Britain vs. Hawaii
#81
Shit, the nearest Hawaiian chaser had already gone for the hoops. Thinking ahead to when Britain next got possession - and seeing Longbottom at the ready down the other end - Tyb went for the nearest bludger at hit across the pitch at the opposing keeper. Maybe the wind would be more helpful in that direction?
C4, attempted hit at Makoa

#82
Kaimana spotted Lopaka with the quaffle, aiming to score some points, and decided to start heading in that direction.

C3 -> B4

#83
Was it really necessary to be hurling bludgers his direction when the action was going on towards the other end of the field? Makoa swerved to (hopefully) not be the beater's first hit of the game.

"I'm starting to think that the bludgers are bewitched or the teams seriously need to re-evaluate their choices in beaters! Another miss at Bixby. What is happening here? ALL THE BLUDGERS MISS ALWAYS.

Lopaka shoots down the pitch in the flurry of activity and takes a shot on goal, but Zavala blocks it. In his efforts he runs into the nearest goalpost, which might knock him a little silly but who knows, quidditch players are hardheaded to begin with.

The quaffle is loose in the British score zone! Next closest player can snag it!

Kaimana is quick to make a grab for the quaffle.

B4 -> B5

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

Beckett summoned a two-handed hit from one end of the pitch to the other, aiming for the Hawaiian chaser who snagged the rebound. Then he moved to follow it up.

C1 -> C2

Kokoikikane was not typically one to lose his cool, but this was ridiculous. People were going to think he'd only made the team due to his brother, at this rate.

He went after the bludger and just swatted it, not even aiming this time.

Arthur was not ecstatic with their beaters at the moment.

He flew towards the British end of the pitch and hoped that Longbottom's bludger would make contact.

"Kaimananana takes hold of the rebound, but Longbottom lobs a bludger from the other end of the field- no surprise there, it's a miss. A recess to check these bludgers? No? Alright.

It appears the the Hawaiian beater in sheer frustration takes aim at nobody in particular and manages to hit his own teammate. Lopaka's broomstick is shattered in the process and he plummets to the ground and OUT of the match! Yikes. That'll teach them. Maybe we should just ignore the bludgers from here on out?

Modifications to the rolling system are being made so that it's actually possible for bludgers to you know, be useful. Kaimana still has the quaffle!

Kaimana feels a wave of frustration as the announcer practically mixes the name of himself and his brother when making the announcement. But he ignores it as he looks for an opening score. Then he makes his shot.

Oh Christ! She was halfway across the pitch from the action, but Gus watched in horrified slow-motion as the Hawaiian's bludger hit caught his own chaser and the chaser began to fall. Something was up with these bludgers if they had done nothing and now that, Gus thought, ever more grateful that she hadn't yet been hit. Flinching at the sight of it - but loath for the spectators to think she was any less determined in constitution than her teammates - she pulled herself together enough to keep moving down the pitch.
B2 -> B3

There was some sort of yelling in the chaos below him and - ope, there was a Hawaiian chaser plummeting towards the ground.

MJ made this!

He was feeling the opposing beater's frustration like it was his own, so he watched with low expectations as the bludger was sent hurtling off. Only - he heard the broom shattering and the cry from the stands, and had to grit his teeth and grip his broom just to steady himself.

Gradually, Tyb drifted towards the bludgers but didn't have the heart to trying hitting any Hawaiians just yet. Or his own teammates, accidentally. Or - more likely at this point - miss everything, but now he wasn't sure which outcome was worst.
C4 -> B5

Having yet to spot the snitch, Halia hovered at a distance. Focused as she was on her task, it was impossible to miss Lopaka—the poor sod—free falling from the sky. That wasn't good.
