QWC Match One: Britain vs. Hawaii
#49
June 27th, 1890 - Portree Stadium

"Britain takes possession for the first time and Pettigrew shoots off down the pitch with Bixby and Robins hot on his tail! Bludgers are flying and though the Hawaiian beater's shot toward Robins is a miss, though just barely, I'm sure she felt the breeze from it!"

Arthur tossed the quaffle to Robins; they were all awfully bunched up at the moment, and he thought that some passing confusion could get them toa better spread.

Aww feck go Pettigrew go!

Becks moved in along behind the trio of chasers to block any more attempted bludgers.

C4 -> D3

Kelly! was no attempted pass earlier, just the attempted bludger hit!

With the bludger hot on her heels, Gus swept in and caught the quaffle from Art, speeding forwards with it.

With the chasers moving down the pitch, Beckett tracked down the bludger previously aimed at Robins and whacked it at the Hawaiian keeper.

Gus would have liked to pass again, but with a crowd of Hawaiian chasers in the midfield behind them, the hoops would never be as clear as they were now. Quaffle in her left hand, Gus swung in as if she were going for the leftmost hoop but swerved towards the centre hoop at the last moment, hoping to make it before the keeper did.

Unable to grab it from one player, Kaimana huffed as it passed from one Brit chaser to another. And that chaser was fast. Kaimana moved to try to get back in the game.

D4 -> C3

Damn bludgers had a mind of their own today! There was still one nearby, though, so Kokoikikane tried again.

Ah, damn it, not another miss. (At least it wasn't just him.) The bludgers were proving more of an opponent today than the other team entirely! And the Hawaiian beater had gotten to the bludger at this end first; Longbottom was down the other end on the offensive, so Tybalt just swung his bat at this one in case he was able to divert the bludger hit from its path before it reached one of the British chasers.

Regardless of how his bludger turned out, there was nothing else to do at this end. Ko flew towards the action.

[D5 > D4]

Having been following the game with an intense stare Makoa moved to block the quaffle.

#61
Kali attempted to intercept the other female chaser, making an attempted mid air interception to procure control of the quaffle

Things were moving fast and Lopaka flew towards the British goalposts, where all the action was.

"Britain screams down the pitch- a pass to Robins and she takes off, takes the shot, but it's blocked! A bludger follows her and narrowly misses her again! Robins better watch out, wonder if she'll get lucky a third time? Longbottom's hit is also a miss at the keeper. Bludgers are flying everywhere, hitting nothing, and the quaffle is loose again! What a mess!"

The quaffle is loose in the Hawaiian score zone! Next closest PLAYER to post claims the quaffle! Keepers can grab the rebound too, I forgot to mention!  Dante- not sure what you were going for, but Kailani was behind the play a little bit, so I had no moderating to do there. You can't interfere with shots on the hoops- that's the keeper's job!

Did British bludgers act differently than the ones he was used to? This was starting to get ridiculous, and his only consolation was that the English didn't seem to be doing any better than he was. Maybe the bludgers here reacted differently to the wind?

In any case, Ko sped off towards them to try again.
