Today was once more a day of adventure. It was a day of exploration. And one did not need to go far on this day. Claire was satisfied to join Archer in an exploration of facts in regards to a variety of different creatures and beings.

"Look at this! That sounds like a true enough fact about a vampire. Do you really think they can't cross running water?" She'd never seen it happen. This was a muggle book, but there were times when muggles were smarter than wizards seemed to give them credit for. She wondered what would happen if they did cross running water. Curious indeed.

Archer leaned in to take a better look at the passage Claire was referring to. Her skimmed it quickly, and frowned, "I'm not sure. It's difficult to tell because some books are just speculation. I wish vampires would write their own books. Then again, information on their talents and weaknesses might make it easier for people to hurt them."

Claire was one of those rare people with whom he could speak to without stuttering out every other word.

"If only we could run an experiment. That would solve that mystery once and for all!" He paused, glancing toward the forest, not particularly relishing in the idea of entering it. In fact, he was sure he'd dissolve into a full blown panic attack. "How many vampires do you suppose live in the forest?"

That was a good point. Vampires could benefit and be hurt from making a book about themselves. It was a sad fact. Especially since she really wanted to know all that she could. She had no plans of hurting a vampire. Why would she? They were fascinating creatures, and had such long lives. Oh, the stories they could tell.

She looked between Archer and the forest for a couple of moments. "I'm not sure. I have a friend that I've seen in there. I think she's a vampire. Perhaps she would be willing to test the theory?" Though, wouldn't that risk her life? It was a chance, to be sure.

Archer raised his eyebrows in interest. "You have a friend who goes into those woods?" He sounded impressed. They must be an awfully brave sort of person. "And you think they might be a vampire?"

The boy sat up straighter, thoughts buzzing through his head. "How do you know for sure that your friend is a vampire, and that they'd aid us in our research?"

"Well, I'm not sure if she would aid us in our research. I do know that I have only seen her a handful of times and most of those times have been with her in the woods. And she's very pale." Sickly pale. The type of pale one would expect to be bed-ridden, if Claire had any idea of the matter.

"I feel that we could ask, and that we could always find another vampire if she says no."

Archer appeared thoughtful at the mention of the girl being pale and wandering about the woods. That definitely pointed toward her being a vampire. Perhaps, Claire was right.

"It's surely worth a try! When do you believe it's best to try and contact her? Summer? "

When they would be less at risk from landing themselves in detention, or worse.

While Claire wasn't all knowing, it did seem to become clearer as she grew older that this young girl was more than she appeared to be. And Claire had met her before Hogwarts and the girl has yet to look older.

"Yes, summer shall do quite nicely. And if she doesn't want to help, perhaps we can send her back with a letter for the caverns asking for assistance."

Archer tugged a well folded bit of parchment out of his robes and scurried over to the quill and ink they'd well, he'd lugged outside to take notes on the book they'd found. It was a list of those they wished to interview come summer and contacts for others who might know more on the subjects they were researching.

"I think we are going to be incredibly busy this summer. I may need to write my cousins in Hogsmeade to see if I may stay with them for a time, so we can conduct our research." The young Ravenclaw both appeared thoughtful and terrified at the thought. Terror because he would have to ask for something, and that gave him anxiety.

"We should probably go, though. It's nearly supper."
