All she wanted to do was punch that look right off his face. Being raised by a horde of brothers left her instincts firmly in the physical reaction department and she didn't want that. Ughhhhhh this was so stupid. Why the hell did he care if she got detention anyway? He was lying to her face and it was making her increasingly more agitated by the minute.
Her tone was dangerously even when she spoke next,
"Fine, I don't want to be around you right now, so back off, I'd rather get detention for being out late than punching you in the nose." All of her hair was a dark red by now and she was barely holding it together. For someone her size, are was deceptively strong and had lots of practice against the boys in her family and right about now she was annoyed, confused and borderline pissed off all at once and it wouldn't be pretty of she exploded.

Cameron stood up straight and took a step back, taking her hair—rather than her words—as a warning sign. It seemed he'd gotten her all riled up now. He'd be lucky if she didn't set a sea of garden gnomes after him in their next Care of Magical Creatures lesson.
"Come on, strawberry-head," he said, unable to resist the gentle teasing upon seeing her hair that color for the first time. It suit her, he thought, but it was probably more dangerous than it was worth. He continued to step away from her, fetching both of their bags off the ground so she'd have no choice but to follow him.
"I'm less worried about you getting detention than I am about you freezing to death. You're only in your quidditch robes." Which were still wet with sweat, and that was unlikely to be helpful when the cool breeze set in. "You can be mad all you want, but do it inside where it's warm."
He started to walk off, her bag slung around his chest.

She was going to murder him in his sleep, then all of these issues would simply stop. Easy. All done.
At least he was making backward progress away from her. A smart move on his part. Smartest move of the conversation.
If she had her wand in hand he'd be face down in the dirt after the comment about her hair. She flipped a rather rude gesture in his direction and laid back down.
"Go find a different damsel in distress, Gillenwater. I'm not interested and I'm not coming."

He didn't take her remark seriously. At this point, he'd buried whatever hurt and awkwardness he was feeling under a mask of nonchalance and assholery. He shrugged when she laid back down and began to open up her bag.
"I guess your notes are all mine then. It's a good thing, too—I never finished the Potions homework last night. I wonder what else I'll find in there," he said, reaching his arm down into the bag. He shot her a challenging look.

"Seriously Cam, fuck off." Sloane wasn't so sure she'd ever even muttered that word under her breath before, but she was ticked off now. She didn't give two hoots about her bag, potions was her worst subject and he would fail the homework if he tried to use what she had.
"Maybe one of your dumb divination debutantes will help with the potions but you won't find anything in there, so kindly get lost." He seriously needed to go away now.

A laugh caught in his throat as she muttered a word that was impolite for any lady of any background to utter. He stared at her with a open-mouthed smile and raised brows in response, half shocked and half surprised at her impropriety. Even more shocking were the words that followed—"dumb divination debutantes".
"Now, that's not a very nice thing to say about Sisse," he said in a tone of mock disapproval. Sisse had become his primary source for Divination homework when he needed it, and he was sure she would help him with Potions, but that wasn't why he was doing this. He wanted to make a point. He needed to let out emotions somehow, even if it wasn't healthy.
"Though I'm sure at least one of the ladies will be willing to help." He held up her notebook and scanned the page, finding, like she'd said, nothing of value. "Fine, I'll go, but I'm taking this." He swung the bag in his arm as he slowly began backing away from her and towards the path.
