To Mrs. Yente Ventus,
Editor in Chief,
Witch Weekly

I was, quite frankly, horrified by the slanderous article in yesterday's issue of your magazine. I have heard rumor in the past, of course, that not everything published by Witch Weekly has a solid basis in fact, but never before has the complete lack of journalistic integrity been so appallingly clear. The error could have been forgiven had the circumstances been otherwise, but given the absolutely minimal amount of work it would have required your staff to verify their information, and the professional relationship I have enjoyed with your magazine in the past, it is unconscionable that you allowed such baseless slander to go to print without so much as asking after a comment.

I can no longer in good faith continue any employment by your magazine, even on a part-time basis, as I am sure you anticipated when you allowed this article to be published. Please consider this letter my resignation, effective immediately.

My Dear Miss Dippet,

I admit that our editorial staff was too hasty in approving the article published yesterday, but there is no need for you to be so, as well. You must consider the way things looked through the eyes of the reporter: you and Mr. Bixby were seen together, by the account of several witnesses, and you were in a rather compromising position. It was the writer's belief that everything written was true — and given that, attempting to contact you for a comment would have been entirely frivolous and would only have kept the biggest story of the year from making it to print in time.

I was delighted to hear that your upcoming nuptials have not been affected by any of the past days' events, as were the entire staff of the magazine. Although I have kept your employment with us the most closely guarded secret, I believe you must know that everyone here is exceptionally fond of you and wishes you only the best.

To make amends, I intend to publish a formal retraction in our next issue. Please accept my deepest apologies and reconsider your resignation.

Y. Ventus

Please contact a member of the staff team if you have an NPC post to go up!

To Mrs. Yente Ventus,

While I appreciate your desire to set the record straight, I'm afraid my decision to resign is quite final. In the future I shall be focusing my energies on my new role as Mrs. Devine and shall not have the time to devote to trivialities.
