Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
January had not been an easy month on the wizard, with the pressure of being under the castle's scrutiny coupling with more personal pressures to make the wizard feel all but suffocated. As such, Nikolai Sleptov had leaped at the opportunity to moderate the dueling competition, to get out, even if only for a couple of days. He reviewed the rules with the gentlemen before bidding Mr. Reese to begin with the offensive.
Teddy had convinced him to sign up as a way to try and focus his energy, give him something to look forward to and work towards. Gilbert wasn't so sure it was doing the trick, but he did try for his friend's sake. It also helped that his basically brother needed someone to practice with since he was hoping to try and participate in the competitive duels.
Gilbert bowed in return to Eugene in an unpracticed sort of way, but he seemed sincere. He doesn't quite remember Eugene from school, although they seem to be about the same age. Gilbert hadn't been a menace in Defense Against the Dark Arts, but he hadn't been a star pupil, either, so he felt a bit ill prepared.
After Eugene cast the jinx, Gilbert raised his wand and firmly cast, "Protego." It was the first spell he could think of as far as defense went.
The shield charm held well enough, effectively protecting Whitechapel from the oncoming jinx. Nikolai awarded the man the first point, and bid him to begin the next turn.
Gilbert raised his eyebrows in surprise that his shield charm seemed to be successful. He wasn't completely dismal with spells, but he knew he would never be anything close to an accomplished dueler. When it seemed it was his chance to be on the offensive, he attempted the first spell that came to his mind, "Tarantallegra!" At least, he could be somewhat amused while partaking in the duel.
Eugene was honestly surprised that he had managed to win a round. Bid to begin the next, he decided to try his hand at casting the Conjunctivitis Curse.
