With her siblings returning later that day, she'd planned on welcoming them home with a merry attitude, but she'd had to get out of the house before she could be cheerful and happy and sooth their conflicted feelings. She didn't know how Ace handled it.

The crisp winter air didn't lighten Avril's blue mood. In fact, it made everything worse. It wasn't that she minded the snow, or how everything seemed to be so festive. What bothered her most as that it would be the first Christmas without her parents, and that made the wonderful season feel... She wasn't sure of the word, but she knew it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

She hadn't really talked much in the last few days. Though she'd asked a week ago if she could go out Christmas shopping, Aunt Jade hadn't had much time before today. dashing from store to store. In the frosty winter air, she found solstice in the hoofbeats of the carriages going down the street as she entered the Leaky Cauldron to head into Diagon Alley.

Entering into the alley, she made a beeline for a store that looked like it would have the last few things she needed to buy for her presents. When she entered the store, she found herself staring into a white  hell that made her squint just to be able to see. Someone had gone all out in the decorations. It was surprisingly silent for how many people were in the store. She wasn't sure if that was a charm or if it was just her tuning out the world.

Looking over, she saw a tree overly decorated with a few stars charmed into ornaments with a rather over-sized one on top. She gave a slightly disgusted look over the decorations to her aunt before she hurried up and shopped for the remaining presents she needed for her siblings.
