Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
This would be her last dueling tournament as a student which made the whole thing and little bit sentimental. But Dursley might not chare the same sentiment as he didn't give her much time. Hoping to combat any charm she might my targeted to, she cast a confusion charm to leave Dursley unsure of what he meant to do.
Nell grinned at the aftermath of what lay before her. Technically, both spells had hit their mark, which in many circumstances would have resulted in a draw. However.
However.
Dursley's spell had hit its mark first, silencing the Gryffindor prefect. And yet, Miss Valenduris had managed to cast her spell anyway through sheer force of will. Nonverbal magic was difficult even for the practiced witch or wizard; many—Nell included—never managed to do much more than simple household charms with it. It might have been a fluke (the Gryffindor did have a reputation for being competitive, after all), but damned if Isobel Valenduris hadn't gone and done it.
"Point Valenduris!" Nell declared, after relieving both students of their newfound impedements. "Miss Valenduris, when you are ready for our next pass."

A sense of smug satisfaction ran through her and she found she didn't really care all that much about having been silenced in public. Not when Dursley's attempts had made her look good. Non-verbal magic!! She'd actually done it! It had been something she'd worked on in her free time for ages but had never actually succeeded in. Clearly she had just needed some sort of... push for it to work. The smug part of her wanted to try to see if she could manage her attack with nonverbal magic as well but logic said it probably would be more embarrassing if she failed that intentionally didn't try.
Figuring simple was best, she turned back towards the ravenclaw and cast a knockback jink.
Once again, the Gryffindor proved the more successful of the pair, ending the duel. Nell gave both students thier due praise before reminding them—and the audience—"Miss Valenduris, you will progress to the next round of the tournament, and have earned five points for Gryffindor, to boot."
