November 10, 1894 — Hogwarts Fall Fest

Lucy was not a natural athlete, and she'd never actually tried her hand at archery before, but she was, if nothing else, an enthusiastic student who was willing to try most things at least once. And she'd been assured that she couldn't actually hurt anyone with these arrows if something went awry.

That didn't make much difference to instinct, of course, so when one of Lucy's arrows got blown off course by a sudden gust of wind, she could only yell, "Watch out!" to the poor soul who was about to get hit bit it, and only belatedly remembered it wasn't supposed to hurt. That probably didn't stop it from being surprising, though.

He’d already taken a gliding boat ride on the lake. A pleasant experience that was calming and more how he imagined most people experienced in their first year. With the fact his welcoming to Hogwarts involved a broken down train and a night spent in the Great Hall.

Then he went to wander the other activities.

"Watch out!”

Blinking he turned, but it was too slow to avoid being hit with the arrow that thankfully didn’t hurt. He figured it was charmed that way someway somehow. Still with a smile he made a dramatic fall as he grabbed the arrow and moved it to be right under his armpit and used his arm to hold it in place.

With a smirk towards his housemate he said “ I’ve been slain. Avenge me Lucy! “ Not realizing his housemate also had shot the arrow.

Lucy winced, but was grateful she'd at least hit Quincy, who seemed both unhurt and unbothered by being accidentally shot. "Sorry!" she said, coming forward to retrieve her wayward arrow. "It didn't hurt you, did it?"

Apologizing isn’t part of avenging. Though Lucy was a girl, so maybe avenging wasn’t a girl thing.

He got up and handed Lucy back the arrow and said “I’m fine. It appears charmed somehow, rather neat if you think about it. “

"Oh, good," Lucy said, feeling embarrassed now both by her mistake and by the fact that she'd temporarily forgotten this very simple fact. Oops. "Well, obviously if they hadn't thought to, it would have ended badly, so I'm glad someone thought of it."

With a smile he said “ Me too “ with his happiness about it being purely self-serving as it would have been him injured, and he doubted Lucy was even capable of avenging him.

Still there was more adventure to be had as he said “ Let’s go shoot some more. At the targets. “. Then he started walking towards where the station for showing the arrows were.

"All right," Lucy said, following Quincy. "Do you have much experience with archery?" she asked.[/b]

He blinked then smirked as he said “ No, but I’ve shot off spells with a wand so I’ve pointed sticks before. “

Then he reached the station and grabbed a bow and some arrows. With a smile he said " Let's see you go first towards the targets. "
