Mr. Mulciber,
My recent research has taken a turn and I find it necessary to travel in order to find some very rare and particular source material. After discussing the matter with my aunt, she has agreed to allow me to take a sabbatical from the Department of Mysteries while pursing the matter abroad. Should this prove an unreasonable inconvenience please write and I shall be content to return to England as soon as practicable.

Mr. Lestrange,
Your choice of timing for this project (which I have so far heard nothing about) is rather singular. Far be it from me to argue with the wisdom of your dear aunt; if she thinks you are so easily expendable during a time of national crisis, so be it. I will, however, speak with her before your return, and it will surprise me very much indeed if we determine that your services (apparently so disposable now) shall be required in the future.
