Edric,

I didn't realize I was keeping you from such important matters today. I was distracted enough today to have just seen the paper after dinner. Congratulations on your promotion, I'm so very excited for you.

And thank you for what you said; I think I've had my fill of being in the paper however, likely for the rest of my life.

Febs,

Thank you for the congratulations. Unfortunately a higher rank means more responsibility; work has been so hectic that I cannot imagine how anyone runs an office, let alone an entire Ministry.

We're currently in the middle of a death-by-carriage investigation in Hogsmeade. Please be alert if you venture outside—if only for my own sanity.

A book should arrive with my owl.

Fondly,
E.

attached is some generic-looking ~romance~ book that gets a lil smutty, but he didn't bother to read through it SO IT'S NOT HIS FAULT IF YOU INTERPRET IT A CERTAIN WAY, FEBRUARY

Edric,

I fear the timing was likely not the best, but at least it means they trust your abilities. I have faith in you. That is most unfortunate news, I'm sorry to hear. This fog is certainly making everything difficult, I cannot imagine what your day must be like.

My day however, much to your delight, I'm sure, was spent inside after disappearing for all that time yesterday. Thank you for the book, I look forward to reading it; I've already finished the last one you sent. You do know that you cannot keep me inside indefinitely by continuing to send reading material, right?
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

I may not be able to keep you there indefinitely, but I will continue to try until your restlessness prevails. I should be in Hogsmeade a few days this week; perhaps fate might bring us together again.

Yours,
E.

Edric,

I must admit so far your choices in novel have been rather... interesting. The first I quiet enjoyed, lots of adventure. This new one... well I've read some of its kind before and you should no longer be any kind of surprised why I am quite so agreeable sometimes.

I had been wondering how busy work would keep you, but I didn't want to be a pest. I may or may not find myself with some free time in the next few days, though I have no doubt fate will have little to do with it.
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

I'm hesitant to inquire about the book's contents; I must admit I picked out the book based on the cover. Is there any reason I should be concerned?

If you were ever to plan an outing into the fog and need assistance to protect against violent carriages, I'm sure I could offer my services for at least a little while.

Yours,
E.

Edric,

Let's just say it left little to the imagination. It was also a quick read. I've had to resort to my own library. I fear I'm going to go through them quickly as all I have to do is hide in my bed and read all day.

As such I am not the one with a lot of demands on my time and therefore have a flexible schedule. I haevn't any need to go out into the fog, however, unless it was worth my while.
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

I very much wish the Ministry would allow people to leave Hogsmeade as they desire. The London air has its own pollutants, but I can't imagine they're any more dangerous than the mysterious, magical fog. It appalls me that the magical community continues to reside there despite all the chaos this past decade.

I'm sure I could make any visit outside worth your while, if you would let me.

Yours,
E.

Edric,

I think that after the last few years, the Ministry has grown cautious about magical phenomena with anonymous origins. Can't say I blame them. And Hogsmeade is lovely, if we could just catch a break. Maybe next year will be our year, you never know. It's downright charming when you can see it.

I have no doubts you could make it worthwhile, just let me know when your schedule allows a little break and I shall endeavor to have my reading do the same.
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

Perhaps tomorrow? We're speaking to some of the carnies regarding the recent troll attack in Hogsmeade. With the source of the fog still unknown, we can't leave any stones unturned. Would you have any qualms if I suggested our garden as the place of meeting?

Yours,
E.

Edric,

My goodness, trolls, you are busy. It's my turn to request you be careful.

I can do tomorrow, I believe I remember the way. I'll see you then.
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

I must confess, I will still be in Hogsmeade tomorrow, but for completely different reasons. I'm sure you've seen the skies by now; I don't think having a garden rendezvous would be the most advisable. Please stay indoors. I'll bribe you with whatever you'd like.

Yours,
E.

Edric,

That is entirely understandable, if a bit disappointing. I don't think it wise for anyone to be out and about right now, though I know you have to be. I promise to stay indoors if you promise to be careful. No more hospital visits, if you please. Let me do the worrying this time, you're far too busy.
Yours,
Febs

Edric,

My father is not being quite as liberal with the use of his owl at the moment, so I'm sneaking this in before everyone else is up. If I could get down to the High Street I would purchase a little one for myself, but alas I'm not so lucky.

I was just writing to tell you I had a wonderful dream about you last night.

I hope you're day isn't too hectic, be safe.
Yours,
Febs

Febs,

You little vixen. You can't just tell me something like that and not elaborate.

P.S. You may not recognize the owl. Her name is apparently "Ianthe", which is a Greek name meaning "violet flower". She's a little thing, but she might find comfort in that tree in your backyard. Our neighbor breeds owls and was all too willing to offer me one.

Yours,
E.
