Padmore Park: We're All Mad Here!
SATURDAY, JUNE 12TH
Padmore Park, Hogsmeade
A glorious, sunny day with a warm sun and comfortable breeze is just the ticket to meet with friends, family, or even just nature in Hogsmeade's Padmore Park. Park-goers, however, will likely be startled when, at
noon, a
hedge labyrinth inspired by
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland springs up around them! The labyrinth has a number of rules in place:
- Your character will not know any of the following rules until they LIVE them
- It will spring up and separate groups larger than four, though it does not force anyone to group up
- Only characters in the park at noon will be impacted. Once the hedges go up, no one else can enter until they go back down
- When those trapped complete three of its obstacles, it will open a clear path to the outside world—these obstacles may appear and be completed in any order
- Apparition and summoning charms do not work within the labyrinth
- Trying to get above or below the hedges (flight, digging) simply will not work; they will grow to match
- White rabbits will appear with increasing frequency and the sound of a clock ticking will grow louder and louder the closer it gets to sundown—your character does not want to be caught within the hedges after dark...

Show
1. You find yourself at a tea party. There is a locked gate blocking the way ahead, and you are struck with the knowledge that the key lies within the food around you. Simply shovelling it aside sees it replenish, however; you must eat your way through, but the more you eat, the sleepier you get!
2. You come across a table with various cakes and vials, each labelled EAT ME or DRINK ME. Some of these rapidly adjust your size, one is a sleeping draught, one makes you turn invisible for the better part of an hour, and one is labelled as poison (but simply makes you very flatulent). One, though, one gives you the power to see which part of the hedges around you is an illusion and lead yourself (and your comrades?) forward.
3. Time for a spot of croquet! Simply hit your ball through the wickets to progress—though hedgehogs and flamingos tend to be unruly and uncooperative...
4. A giant, talking caterpillar has essentially hotboxed a clearing in the hedges. You must solve his maddening riddles to proceed—hopefully before whatever he's having makes you forget why you're so eager to continue!
5. Can YOU put Humpty together again? A makeshift wooden booth is set up with a sign that reads HUMPTY'S DIRECTIONS. Unfortunately, the anthropomorphized egg seems to have shattered, and you must reassemble him so that he can point you in the right direction!
6. Stop and smell listen to the flowers? A small garden of talking flowers proclaims to know all the secrets you could ever hope to learn—will you forgo temptation, or give in to your curiosity?
WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN
Show
Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Once the sun goes down, at the center of the labyrinth rises the Jabberwock: hungry and lethal. Chances of encountering the beast are low. Chances of living to tell the tale, however, are lower still. Characters should avoid such danger unless they're willing to risk it all...
But wait, there's more!
