Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I hope that you are well. I hear our son has been named prefect for Gryffindor house—I expect a gift of some sort is in order, but confess that I am rather at a loss. Any guidance you might have in this department would be appreciated.
On the topic of gifts, I have secured a kitten for Anne to take to school with her—I hope that this does not step upon any toes. If convenient, I should like to deliver it in person, and perhaps spend an afternoon with her next week-end.
Ned is likely to become the dueling club president this fall; I suspect he would very much enjoy something related. He still plays club Quiditch as well -- I'll be honest, I'm at a bit of a loss with the interests of teenage boys, which is unfortunate in this case!
I am sure Anne will love a kitten. Next weekend works.
I have secured a copy of Karkaroff's Dueling Compendium that I think shall do the trick. I shall leave it with my compliments when I come to see Anne. Thank you for the suggestion regarding his interests.
