Appearance: Standing at an even five feet tall with a wealth of dark, curling hair, deep brown eyes, and a figure curvaceous enough to be immediately viewed as "woman," Ambrosia cuts a striking figure in well-made, lace-trimmed evening gowns and day dresses alike. Naturally and unashamedly left-handed, the young woman is still relatively reserved following the events of the past year.
History: 1867: Ambrosia Lemon Shinnick is born the first child of Mortimer and Penthesilea.
1868: Nectar is born. Ambrosia’s too young to fully care about this, but does experience some firstborn anxieties, as she is no longer the only child.
1870: As the eldest, Ambrosia begins lessons with a specially-chosen tutor; she shows promise in French, Latin, and singing.
1872: Ambrosia exhibits her first signs of magic during the first snowstorm she would ever remember, forming a large snow crystal from falling snow when the nanny left the nursery window open. The nanny is subsequently let go for endangering the Shinnick sisters.
1874: Nectar displays magic in a show of frustration during the sisters’ music lesson by destroying a number of keys on the family piano. This leaves Ambrosia in a fit of giggles.
1877: The first sign of heartbreak in the sisters’ lives. During the chaos, shortly after Hogsmeade was founded and made clear to be an option for refuge from the madness of the muggles, Penthesilea is in the process of packing the last things for the transition. A group of muggles passing through the area witness her using magic to pack and surge into the home, slaughtering her in the sitting room.
1878: Ambrosia enters school still in a state of mourning, and is sorted into Ravenclaw.
1879: Nectar follows Ambrosia into Hogwarts.
1880: At the end of her second year, Ambrosia decides to sign up for Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes as OWL courses.
1883: Ambrosia sits her OWLs. The scores come back thus, leading to the choice of keeping Astronomy, Charms, Herbology, Potions, and Transfiguration as NEWT courses:

1885: Ambrosia debuts, but three weeks after, tragedy strikes once more, and her father is slain on a full moon night in a werewolf attack. Thus, Ambrosia’s first season ends before it is even begun, she enters a period of mourning, and she and her sister are sent to live with their maternal uncle, Deiphobus, who also lives in Hogsmeade. When her NEWT scores arrive, they are thus:

1886: After missing her first season due to mourning, Ambrosia entered into her second season in London, at which point she met Harper Stokerton, a twenty-eight year old half-blood from northern Scotland. They grew close quite naturally, and began to exchange letters. In November, Harper inquires with Deiphobus after Ambrosia’s hand in marriage. He consents, and on New Year’s Eve, Harper proposes.
1887: Harper and Ambrosia announce their engagement on May 12th, with the intent to wed in late July. These plans, however, are foiled when, on a day outing, Harper is among the casualties of the Wizarding World Market. He was among those mauled to death by a flying tiger, though technically he died in Ambrosia’s arms after she cast a well-aimed depulso just a moment too late. She has been in mourning ever since.

Sample Roleplay Post:Killian was not the sort who followed. He wasn't much interested in tradition or any of the trappings that came with it. Perhaps that was why his new year's eve would be rung in with glasses of bittersweet champagne. His night would bear the hazy mindset of a drunken madman, his usual state. No parade would celebrate his losses, no resolution could break through to his frozen soul.
But she had.
He'd sworn this saga of his, this tragedy he would never write - his own life - would never lead to a personal revolution. So rather than going out and joining the revelry, he sat in his study, the door locked, with nothing but the acrid burn of his alcohol and his own striken thoughts. The fog from the liquor did nothing to keep the thoughts of her stifled.
Some logical part of him knew that these wicked feelings had to be mistaken, a lovelorn lark he should recover from. But even the clanking of bottle against glass as he poured another seemed to ring with her name. He found his hands to be quaking as he dipped his quill into the well of opaque black ink, and wrote her name at the top of a piece of parchment laid before him.
