Rhys rarely asserted his position over his employees. Just because he was the Head Constable, did not necessarily make him any better than those he supervised. Until he'd gotten married, and then when Emery had joined them, Rhys had tried to balance things out so that he shouldered just as much work as he did responsibility.

Now he had an anniversary to celebrate, and a family to get home to, so sometimes he pulled rank. Like the fact that he should be home on New Year's Eve, also his first wedding anniversary to spend the night in with Zinnia. In trade, he'd agreed to work both days of the reopening of the Park so that the boys could each have a day to enjoy it themselves.

So far it had been pretty blasé, just some youngsters getting into trouble here and there, but nothing overt. It was good to see the Park open again. To have it closed for so long felt a little surreal, so much happened here that he thought it an integral part of the community. Making his way through the vendors, he passed a wave to Honeyduke just at the same moment he heard somebody shout, "Constable!" Which had his head whipping around.
