January 5th, 1895 - Harper Family Home
Emmett knew that visiting his mother and sisters more often was something he should keep up with. There was no arguing with Megara Harper when she decided bi-weekly dinners were now a requirement out of her sons who had all mostly flown from the nest (him). He didn't mind, really, seeing his younger siblings more often was good for him. He didn't mind escorting Ember to events and they usually had a good time, but he also understood the importance of making time for everyone, even in the decade since his father's death.
"At least I get to eat well once every couple of weeks." He mused, looking at Eamon with a grin, as his brother was the only one who had joined him in what was once their father's study. Well, now he supposed it was Eamon's and it fit. Emmett did not envy his brother being the eldest, but they had made it work. Sometimes Emmett felt guilty for letting a flat in London, leaving the estate to Eamon, but he did go home often enough to help when needed. Plus the sprawling grounds were much more beneficial to Eamon's work and when everybody came to London for the season, he was that much closer.
"I appreciate cook made my favorite tonight." He mused over his whiskey. "Have things been alright around here?" Winter probably wasn't the best of times for a herbologist, but he assumed Eamon made due.
