Herbology would be a breeze with Calla's expertise. Charms and Defense were different stories, but even Alice struggled with Defense. "Calla, Sisse, and Edison would all be able to help tutor you too, I'd imagine," she replied, naming her friends in the order of their best subjects. "This isn't impossible. You just have to want it more than anything else in the world."

She nodded. Heading to the zoo was a good plan, and would be fun while she was at it. "I hope you rip the letter to shreds, but having a back up plan is always a good idea."

"I know, Sisse has already been helping me with Charms." Poor Ned had enough to deal with, never mind having to tutor her in Defense. She would figure it out, somehow. Even if she got a decent OWL that might be enough. Surely she would learn the practical things she needed to once she got into the field. Herbology she could do on her own, though she did ask Calla if she was truly stuck, Sloane had always done well with those more hands-on classes.

Sloane made no promises about her resignation letter; she still had every intention of handing it in when the term resumed in September, but she didn't want to argue with anyone about it. Like Alice had just said, she needed to want it and she wasn't sure she did anymore.

They neared another intersection. "Now which way?" She looked at Alice with a shrug. Hopefully they weren't going in circles.

She understood when a topic of conversation had reached its end and knew better than to push Sloane further. Sloane wasn't aware of it yet, but Alice would go to great lengths to ensure her friend didn't give up on her passions. Even if it meant befriending Cameron again. Even if it meant forcing herself to forget all the frustration and loneliness of this past year.

"Left." She answered decisively. In truth, Alice wasn't sure which way to go, as nearly every path appeared identical. "We turned right last. We should change directions every so often to hopefully avoid going in circles." It made sense, she supposed, not that they had any way of telling.

Thankfully the conversation of quidditch lapsed and Sloane was happy to have it go by the wayside. "Makes sense, going in circles wouldn't be great." She chuckled. The thing had to have an exit or maybe it would come down as suddenly as it had risen up, but until then they didn't have much choice but to keep wandering.
