HOGSMEADE WINS QUIDDITCH CUP
HOLYHEAD COMES IN SURPRISE SECOND
After a shocking journey to the finals, the Holyhead Harpies lost to the Hogsmeade Howlers after a three-hour game in cloudy Holyhead, Wales Saturday.
The scores between the two teams remained incredibly close throughout - both teams stood at 100 points when the snitch was caught - but finally, Hogsmeade seeker NYP caught the snitch.
The final score between the two teams was 250-100, Hogsmeade.
"Obviously we're delighted," said Hogsmeade captain, Mr. Arthur Pettigrew. "This is the first season win in Howlers history, and those of us on the national team are looking forward to representing all-Britain this summer."
"I am truly pleased with how well the Harpies played throughout the finals. Though it seems bittersweet to lose so close to the end, we cannot allow that to diminish what we have accomplished," said Mrs. Desdemona Pettigrew, Harpies coach and wife of Mr. Pettigrew.
After a playoff season where the Harpies shocked by outplaying several teams with male players, many sponsors are reevaluating their rosters. The ladies trounced the Kenmare Kestrels, Appleby Arrows, and Puddlemere United this season.
This shocking second-place finish may be promising for Hogwarts graduates seeking positions, and Quidditch experts expect to see National Team players shuffled around after this summer's season. Perhaps a return to the pitch is in store for Mr. Tybalt Kirke or Mr. Beckett Longbottom?
