Sloane snorted. "I don't know about famous, but yes, that's Rufus." Was it weird that he was as old as Rufus? She supposed Sadie had been a little older (best guess?) but Sloane was still seventeen. Was that strange? To her Fussy felt old, but he'd been old her entire life. Jeremy didn't seem so old; it didn't matter, not really.

"Good, has three children now, probably should retire." Sloane chuckled. She had softened to Fortuna since coming home; it was just easier, but her sister-in-law still felt a bit like a stranger and Sloane knew that was her fault. Just another thing to add to her list of things to try and wrap her head around and fix. Perhaps she'd have to ask Fussy about Jeremy in a roundabout way. Just an outsider's (though maybe not unbiased) opinion. She should probably ask him about life in general, he seemed to have the most level head in situations like this. Alvin was dealing with his own problems, and he seemed too distant right now. Wally had enough going on, and she didn't know how to ask her mother about anything anymore. It was weird and she kept coming back to trying to get back to the way things were, even though she knew she couldn't.

"I can't tell if I miss it or not, flying, but I'm not ready to try again yet. Horses is much easier for now." She did enjoy that.

Three children at his age? Jeremy felt too young to have children himself, how was it that Bixby had three? And the thought of retiring at this age.... it was a term he was very unuse to given his own lot in life.

In a moment, in one simple confession, Jeremy felt the connection to Sadie again. The easy confidence she had shared with him. There was a comfort in that, in that Sloane would still trust him with such admissions, things he knew couldn't be easy. It gave him hope for the future. "When you are ready to try it again, I will be there by your side." He promised. "And until I am happy to go for rides with you. My stables are at your disposal." It was a grand gesture mixed with a sentimental one, but nothing less than he would have promised her as Sadie and thus it seemed only natural to offer it now.

She knew that he meant it too. Sloane thought flying would take a lot longer to get back to, but she could handle riding. In fact for now, she would prefer it. "I'd like that, very much." It would be a good way for them to spend some time together and for her to figure out how best to get her life together. There had to be a way to blend the two existences into something she could live with.

"I should as well." He admitted, his voice quiet, earnest, his blue eyes meeting her own, his hand reaching out to gently give her own a reassuring grasp. His heart soared that she didn't turn him down, turn him away. Indeed, there was a peace, an ease between them that he had thought given her news that would have taken longer to return. And yet here it was, waiting in a simple promise, a gentle reassurance, and a fragile hope for the future.
