Renata stands at an impressive five feet, nine inches in height with a lean build that makes her look almost nymph-like in stature. Her caramel complexion is inherited from her mother—though she’ll hardly bring it up in conversation—and her dark brown hair and eyes, her father. In spite of her profession, she prefers more modest tones and cuts offstage, bar special occasions and when it’s ~convenient. She is right-handed.
History:
Renata was always an odd girl. Born to Tuscan farmers at a time of revolution, her Catholic parents could neither abide a girl that was clearly marked by the devil, nor…dispose of their own flesh and blood. Instead, they sold her at the age of seven to a travelling carnival—the same carnival which employs her today.Personality:
She started out her career performing odd jobs before learning from the tumblers and contortionists. This lasted perhaps a year before she shot up several inches, and her new limbs swiftly became a hindrance. Instead, Renata began doing odd jobs for the burlesque shows. In awe of the confidence the performers showed on stage—it was not until she was older that she would begin to realize this was often not the case offstage—she was determined to be one of them someday.
Renata got her ‘big break’ at the age of sixteen. While playing at cards, she won two things: a wand of her own and the opportunity to audition. Her audition was successful and thus, a career was born.
Two decades, countless flirtations, and an enforced retirement (she isn’t as young as she might like!) drawing near, Renata is quite certain she’s outgrown the traveling carnival she has called home for most of her life, and is ready for a new challenge. Financing that challenge is altogether another matter.
