Ursula Black. The cbox makes noise on my phone.
Clarifying: the cbox that I cannot see or interact with on the main charming page via mobile makes clicking sounds that are audible even if I'm not using my internet app, even if I'm not using my phone, even if it's on the lock screen. I don't have to have the cbox tab open to hear them. Because the cbox is not visible on mobile board pages, there is no way to turn them off by muting them. The only way to be free of clicking is to ensure I never leave any charming tab open in the background on my phone.
This is a new-ish problem but not since your most recent like-tinkering thing. Maybe a week? Maybe more? It took me a while to pinpoint because I just thought I was going crazy and had the cbox open in a tab somewhere but that's not the case!

I *think* if you open the cbox in its own tab and mute it, it'll remember to mute it on the board.

It does not
I'm logged in to the cbox as "Lynnith" on my phone and when I open the cbox in its own tab it remembers my name and my mute preference but doesn't affect the pings from the site.

Nothing I've done should be able to affect this so I think it's got to be cbox or the way your device is behaving in some way. What you should be able to do though is if you turn your phone horizontal, the cbox should pop up and you should be able to turn the sound off.
