You do not know me but rest assured that I know of you.

It has come to my attention that you are planning to take part in an illegal duel tomorrow.

I have also discerned the location and time of your duel and should you turn up tomorrow you shall find the appropriate Law Enforcement officials awaiting you and your opponent.

If you wish to keep your freedom, sir, you will sleep soundly tonight and go about your day as normal tomorrow with no thought of dueling.

Dear Mr. Crouch,

I am not Mr. Macmillan nor am I affiliated with him. I am merely a concerned third party who would rather not see your name in headlines once again and certainly not alongside 'Azkaban'.

Pursuant to my own investigation, I have reason to believe Mr. Macmillan plans to stand you up tomorrow and so it would be a great shame should you be the only one taken into custody after being warned.

I might add that there is nothing courageous about knowingly walking into peril that is entirely unnecessary and avoidable. That, sir, is bull-headed foolishness. One could argue that it is a form of cowardice all its own; a man who would do such a thing is too cowardly to make the wise choice for fear of what others may think of him. Your honor shall be of very small comfort to your family and of even less consequence to a dementor.

If you are arrested tomorrow you cannot defend anyone's honor.

If the true reason for your duel is not swiftly revealed then people will use their imaginations to fill in the gaps. You more than anyone should be aware of how vicious they can be.

I urge you to please heed my warning. If I have reason to believe that you still intend to duel by the end of the day I shall be left with no alternative but to take matters into my own hands.
