Okay I feel as though this is something I should know by now, but I've found two conflicting pieces of information in the site documents. How many NEWTs are required to become a healer? The
Career vs. Education Levels doc says five and that it's basically the same NEWT requirements as an auror. However, on the
occupations list, it offers different requirements, with some wards requiring different NEWTs. Is this in addition, or just the general requirement needed to intern there?

How I take this is: basically
five NEWTS at an E or higher is the baseline requirement for any healing position, but depending on which ward you intern in, there may be additional requirements. Not unlike becoming an Auror, that kind of core practical classes are going to be generally recommended - as you can see Potions and Charms are basically givens for all wards - but unlike Auroring there is a little more flexibility in terms of which 5 NEWTs you take (hence the "ideally" in that doc), as if you're aiming to be a Creature-Induced Injuries healer you are probably going to need COMC as one of those 5 instead.
Obviously you can always take
more than 5 NEWTs and get them all - e.g. I gave
Rosamund Bones those core classes + Runes and Muggle Studies because she was interested in Artifact Incidents - but tl;dr at minimum you should at least have 5 NEWTs at E/higher and those particularly specified for your ward on the Occs list included amongst them.
