Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

Did You Know?
Did you know? Jewelry of jet was the haute jewelry of the Victorian era. — Fallin
It was a normal day so far. Studying and all that every day Hogwarts stuff. Not much socializing, but studying was to be a priority if she was going to stay. So when she heard barking, it sounded as though things were about to get more interesting.
Alina walked around the corner to find a couple of students crowded around someone who would not stop barking. What was this about? A prank? A dare? Was Peeves behind this? "What's going on here?"
Paxton needed to do better with his charm work, he had decided. So he and a friend had taken it upon themselves to practice one of the spells that they had been recently taught. Instead of doing the charm they had been intending, however, Paxton ended up with a bark.
Every time he tried to speak, it was coming out as barking. A small group had soon gathered to observe what was going on and they were soon joined by another Hufflepuff girl. He opened his mouth to tell her but of course, it was highly doubtful the girl would understand the language a dog speaks.
This did come as a bit of a shock. Would he bite her if he got mad? Would he growl and snarl? She gave him a 'what are you doing' sort of look.
Looking around at the others, most looked fairly confused themselves. Some a bit worried. She heard one mentioning going to get the nurse before they rushed off to do so.
Oh, this was frustrating! He tried in vein to talk again but just kept barking. He rummaged around for a piece of parchment and managed to write down. Charm gone wrong, can only bark! Which he handed to the nearest person who happened to be Miss O'Malley from his own house.
Taking the note, she was glad to see that Mr. Fudge at least had the decency to not make his note extra fancy for the sake of appearance. "Rotten luck, that. What spell was it?" At least they had paper to communicate. She was sure that the nurse was not going to be pleased, to be certain.
Taking the paper back from her, he wrote down the spell. Silencio. It struck him as hilariously ironic considering Paxton Fudge was the kind of boy who couldn't shut up. He wasn't sure what his practice partner had done wrong but he was the one dealing with the result of the mishap.
The spell wasn't far off, so it couldn't be so bad. At least this one hadn't gone and turned purple. How embarrassing would that have been? "What should we do until the nurse gets here? I don't think it would be smart if we tried fixing it ourselves." This was an awkward situation. Would they get points taken away for this? In some way, that sounded utterly unreasonable. That was something she might even dare taking up with the Head of House. Not the Headmaster, certainly. That man was creepy.
Go bark at cats and see how confused they get? Paxton suggested with a shrug. He didn't see what else they could do besides have a little fun and mischief. Someone was already getting help so now all that was left to wait.
Delighted to have unintentionally met a partner in crime, Paxton lead the way to find a cat. They weren't going to hurt it, obviously - Paxton wasn't a sociopath and he doubted Miss O'Malley was either. He just wanted to see what its reaction to a barking boy was going to be.
As soon as they had found a cat, Paxton proceeded to bark at it. He went into literally barking laughter at its confused expression. He did not get to continue having fun for long before a staff member came along to get him fixed up in the hospital wing. He waved goodbye to his fellow Puff as he was lead away.
